Le Rune

Le Rune is situated in central Genoa near Piazza Portello and Via Garibaldi, a street famed for its frescoed palaces. Established in 1997 by Alberto and Simona, who assumed full management in 2010, the restaurant relocated in 2016 to a multi-level venue. The space includes three dining rooms, a mezzanine, and an outdoor seating area overlooking the San’t Anna funicular. The interior combines contemporary design with warmth, offering a colorful, inviting atmosphere that makes guests feel at home. The varied dining areas accommodate different moods, including a seasonal outdoor option with views of the historic funicular. Headed by Chef Alberto, the kitchen emphasizes Ligurian cuisine with a focus on fresh fish, seafood, and seasonal produce sourced locally from trusted suppliers. The menu changes weekly to reflect the freshest ingredients, highlighting both sea and mountain flavors through traditional yet creative preparations. Signature dishes include semifreddo al Pandolce Genovese with Chinotto di Savona caramel, tuna steak, branzino ravioli with lobster, and risotto with saffron and cuttlefish. The restaurant also offers artisanal pesto and focaccia specialities, serving attentive, family-like hospitality.
