Shruti Box

Shruti Box is a community-driven, artist-run studio and performance space located in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. Founded with a mission to amplify voices historically excluded from mainstream cultural spaces, it provides affordable access to recording, rehearsal, and live performance infrastructure, with a focus on fostering collaboration and equity among South Asian and underrepresented artists. The Entire Venue serves as the core of Shruti Box, functioning as both a music studio and performance space. It accommodates up to 40 people in a theater-style arrangement and features acoustic panels covered in colorful fabrics, a drum kit, and lounge seating, creating a warm and creative atmosphere. The space is suited for performances, rehearsals, recording sessions, podcasting, private events, and workshops. Shruti Box offers a range of rental options including solo or duo practice space, band rehearsal, recording sessions with or without engineering, individual song mixing and mastering, podcast production packages, and small private event rentals.
