The partner's word
Located in downtown St. Louis, The Thaxton is a historic building constructed in 1928 and restored to its original Art Deco splendor. This multi-level venue reflects the opulence of the late 1920s and early 1930s, preserving much of its original architecture including moulding, terrazzo floors, wood inlays, and metalwork. The building was originally designed by architects Klipstein and Rothman for Eastman Kodak Corp and is the only surviving example of five identical structures planned before the Great Depression halted the project.
The interior spaces are richly detailed with custom frescos, paintings, reliefs, lighting, marble, tile, wood, stone, and metal works added during restoration. The venue also houses a notable collection of vintage cameras and Alberto Vargas pin-up art, contributing to its vintage and glamorous atmosphere. Each floor offers a distinct experience, with a lower-level lounge known as the Thaxton Speakeasy, which operates as a cocktail lounge open to the public on select evenings.
The Thaxton is suited for a variety of events including weddings, corporate functions, birthday parties, and social gatherings. The venue provides a boutique experience with attentive service, guiding clients through event planning and execution. Amenities include seating for up to 120 guests, a full sound system, wireless microphones, lounge seating, and a wedding party suite. The venue’s cityscape views and elegant Art Deco style make it a distinctive setting for indoor events.
