VIDA in Dortmund is an innovative, internationally minded restaurant that blends the down-to-earth products and culture of the Ruhr with influences from Barcelona, Bangkok and Berlin; its team, led operationally by manager Ciro De Luca, emphasises quality, innovation and the courage to try new paths, and the Michelin Guide lists VIDA as a Selected restaurant with a creative, international cuisine profile. The interior, created by Swiss architect Julia Dyllong, is a stylish, modern space with a relaxed, informal vibe. Electronic music, contemporary design and hip, informal service create a lively, comfortable atmosphere. VIDA's cooking is international and creative, combining Mediterranean and Asian techniques and flavours with traditional German (gutbürgerliche) elements and hearty regional touches. Star chef Michael Dyllong inspires the dishes. Barchef Fabio Rizzo presents a signature "liquid kitchen" of cocktails alongside classic drinks and exclusive beers. The kitchen offers a seasonally changing à la carte and VIDA tasting menus with four- and five-course options that showcase best of the season and best from the region; specialties include Liquid Kitchen cocktails, seasonal regionally sourced dishes and shareable Mediterranean–Asian fusion plates.
