Alpenkönig - Esslust

Restaurant Esslust is the in-house restaurant of the family-run Hotel Alpenkönig in Oberstaufen, operated by the Bentele family in its third generation. It serves hotel guests every evening and opens to external restaurant visitors on a limited schedule. The hotel highlights sourcing from regional partners and frames evening service as part of the broader hospitality that links rooms, wellness and cuisine. Esslust holds the distinction SELECTED by the Michelin Guide. The kitchen is regional and seasonal, rooted in the Allgäu and combining Soulfood textures with Fine Dining techniques. The team celebrates “the small and the fine,” placing selected ingredients and creative plates at the centre of each menu. An edited wine list accompanies the dishes. Schnitzel Monday runs as a regular special. A 4-course half‑board menu is offered with fish, meat or vegetarian options, and half‑board guests may compose their own 4‑course à la carte. Dishes are prepared from Allgäu regional produce.
