Finestra earned its first Michelin star in 2025 after 16 months and invites guests into chef Italo Bassi’s visionary world. Founded when Bassi settled in Bonifacio in 2023 with his executive chef, it unites Italian culinary heritage and island inspiration to elevate the island’s finest local products and, as Bonifacio’s first Michelin‑starred table, defines a union of design, place and gastronomic innovation. Housed in a restored Genoese‑era shipyard, the dining room retains historical elements: an overturned boat hull forms the ceiling with mast and gilded sails, a bay window offers panoramic views over Bonifacio’s port, and a hammered mirror evokes the movement of the sea. The cuisine is experimental eno‑gastronomy: a synthesis of technical precision and personal inspiration that produces bold, refined, multisensory dishes rooted in Italian tradition and island‑sourced ingredients. Italo Bassi (Chef) brought Enoteca Pinchiorri to Michelin prominence and opened Confusion. Edoardo Menna, the executive chef, trained with Alain Ducasse, Yannick Alléno and Luciano Zazzeri and applies classical technique with contemporary sensitivity. Specialties include roasted Bonifacio langouste (spiny lobster), fleur de courgette (zucchini flower), a multisensory tasting menu and dishes showcasing the island’s finest products.
