Gastraum

Gastraum is the inviting hotel restaurant of Hotel Villa Hügel in Trier, housed in a white Jugendstil villa originally built in 1914 as the residence of a Moselle wine‑trading family. The property has been family‑run by Familie Schütt since 1978 and the restaurant forms part of the hotel’s 4‑star superior offering; the hotel is highly rated and has received multiple awards. Overnight guests are automatically allocated a restaurant place when booking a room and may pre‑select their preferred dining time by email or phone. External seating is available only in limited numbers, and reservations for outside guests are handled via an online reservation system. The dining areas share the house’s style of clear yet vivid colours, high ceilings and large windows that admit generous light; modern accessories are deliberately combined with original elements from around 1900. The kitchen presents contemporary (Moderne Küche) dining, offering a high‑quality à la carte alongside a daily changing four‑course menu for guests.
