Georges Blanc

Georges Blanc is a historic gastronomic destination founded on three generations of 'Mères cuisinières' and Michelin-starred since 1929, described as the oldest starred restaurant in France. The Village Blanc extends the house across five hectares into a gourmand village of boutiques, renovated houses, hotels, a spa, gardens, a cinema and themed dining venues, and the estate pairs spa and wellness facilities with event spaces including the Château d'Épeyssoles close to the village while presenting on-site muséography of the village buildings. Educational experiences led by the team include cooking workshops with Frédéric Blanc and wine workshops guided by the restaurant sommelier, reinforcing transmission of haute gastronomy. The Village Blanc is laid out like a traditional country village around a square and river, with flower-decked houses, gardens, a dovecote and park; the site is carefully landscaped and lit to create a magical, fairy-lit atmosphere at night and includes light-filled spaces such as a glass-roofed spa veranda. The restaurant practises classic French haute cuisine rooted in the Bresse terroir, revisiting family recipes with elegance and simplicity, and places the region’s produce at the centre of the menu; the house emphasises environmental enhancement and protection and sources local produce such as the emblematic Volaille de Bresse.
