La Golmotte

Auberge La Golmotte is a small mountain inn-restaurant located between Lac du Guéry and the town of Le Mont-Dore. Annette and Christophe run the house. Reservations are recommended by phone; the restaurant does not accept animals and displays regional travel-guide distinctions including a Michelin selection and Routard recognition. Accessibility is provided with a ramp and adapted toilets for guests with reduced mobility. The dining room presents a warm, rustic atmosphere with refined mountain décor. Seating occupies a traditional inn-style restaurant space and the hosts provide a friendly, welcoming reception. The kitchen serves traditional French cuisine described as "soignée", emphasising classic, rural cooking executed with attention to quality and seasonality. All dishes are made in-house and the menu highlights regional and seasonal produce. Preparations include fricassee, braising and pan sauces. Specialties feature fricassée de ris de veau aux morilles (sweetbread with morels), foie gras de canard frais, pain d’épices maison, Noix de Saint-Jacques with beurre d’orange (seasonal scallops), filet de boeuf façon Rossini, joues de porc braisées au Saint‑Pourçain blanc and an assiette de fromages d'Auvergne.
