Las Termas

Las Termas is a family-run restaurant situated in the heart of Astorga, a mere 50 meters from the Cathedral and Gaudí Palace. Founded in the early 2000s by Maribel and Santiago, the establishment draws on more than three decades of family experience in the restaurant trade. Maribel leads the kitchen, while Santiago manages the dining room, delivering warm and attentive hospitality. Their daughter Soraya, an architect, now participates in the business, perpetuating the family's commitment to tradition. The restaurant specializes in the traditional Cocido Maragato, a slow-cooked dish featuring carefully selected ingredients like fine, buttery chickpeas available for purchase. The cocido is served in reverse, beginning with the meats, followed by chickpeas with potatoes and cabbage, a noodle soup, and concluding with homemade custard and sponge cake. Complementing this are regional dishes prepared with local produce, supporting the local economy and preserving authentic flavors. Located in a historic setting, Las Termas offers a welcoming atmosphere marked by personal service and comfort. The menu highlights include Ensalada Maragata, Setas al queso de Valdeón, Bacalao Enfritada, and red meats sourced from the Teleno mountains. The restaurant accommodates special dietary needs, including celiac-friendly options, and provides custom menus for events. Las Termas has earned repeated recognition from the Michelin Guide with the Bib Gourmand distinction.
