L'Écureuil

L'Écureuil is a neighbourhood gastronomy destination with the motto "gastronomy that's more real than life," offering market-driven cooking in an intimate setting at 18 Rue Saint-Adjutor, Clermont-Ferrand. It dates from June 2011, is recognised by guides and the press, and holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2013 through 2024. The restaurant offers takeaway (click & collect) and gift vouchers. A cozy interior with chic décor and designer furnishings creates an intimate, comfortable dining environment ideal for appreciating the cuisine, complemented by hospitality-focused service. The kitchen produces modern French cooking drawing on Mediterranean, Piedmont and Auvergne flavours and emphasising market-fresh, seasonal produce alongside creative, daring preparations that highlight local suppliers. Chef Benoît Piedpremier is trained in the Auvergne, has experience at the Royal Monceau in Paris and at L'Hostellerie Jérôme with Bruno Cirino, and has returned to his native Clermont-Ferrand. Specialties are crispy veal sweetbread escalope with morels; low-temperature duck breast with red wine and olives; pan-fried market fish with risotto; foie gras salad from the La Limagne estate; garden pumpkin cream with foie gras; and caramelized pear mille-feuille with vanilla ice cream.
