L'Unisens

L'Unisens is a gastronomic restaurant in Vagnas, Ardèche near Vallon Pont d'Arc which reopens the family Auberge des Granges founded by the chef's grandfather. The chef reopens it after training with the Pourcel brothers and stints in the Luberon, Luxembourg, Mas des Herbes Blanches, Le Phébus and Jardin des Sens. The restaurant holds Michelin recognition — Assiette Michelin 2016 and Bib Gourmand 2019 for the chef's former restaurant — and a reference in the Michelin Guide for L'Unisens. It offers tasting and set menus, à la carte choices and a daily lunch menu. The dining room is intimate, warm and contemporary, large and luminous, with an open kitchen and a sheltered terrace. Walls display the chef's father's paintings and a central sculpture presides over the room, creating a connection between visual art and the culinary creations. The cooking is modern, gastronomic and creative, rooted in local terroir and seasonal produce, with carefully composed plates, refined presentations and a focus on high-quality, local ingredients. Tarik Mezri-Charmasson is the chef. Specialties include foie gras medallion with apple and lychee; prawn sphere; scallops with candied clementines; sliced duck breast with citrus jus; revisited lemon meringue tart.
