Teko by Lange Rodriguez opened in October 2023 in Essen‑Rüttenscheid as a fine‑dining venue. The concept "two cultures, one taste" fuses Bolivian roots with German upbringing through creativity and high‑quality ingredients. "Teko" (Guaraní for culture) underpins a philosophy of sharing collective experience through food. The restaurant holds a Guide Michelin recommendation and listings in Feinschmecker, Gusto, Vartaguide, Schlemmeratlas and Gault & Millau; reservations and advance notice of dietary requirements are requested. A modern, intimate dining room seats up to 25 guests; service is indoors only and is designed for focused, experiential evenings. Cuisine combines South American and German/International influences, using modern and classical techniques to present regional, seasonal tasting menus of five or seven courses with pronounced South American accents. Hans Robert Lange Rodriguez realised the project, trained and worked in renowned restaurants worldwide, and aims to combine tradition and modernity to create demanding yet heartfelt taste experiences. Specialties include five‑course and seven‑course tasting menus, dishes blending South American and German flavours, a seasonal skrei (cod) course and a traditional Christmas goose (Gans to go).
