W Punta de Mita is located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, drawing inspiration from the local bohemian surf culture that defines the region. The hotel’s design reflects a rich blend of cultural and natural influences, including the vibrant colors of Mexico, the blues of the surrounding bay and coast, and traditional patterns of the Huichol people, indigenous to Nayarit. This cultural tapestry is woven throughout the property’s villas, public spaces, and dining venues.

The architecture and interiors, developed by ASET/AOMA in collaboration with Mister Important Design and Starwood’s design team, emphasize a contemporary and whimsical style that celebrates both Spanish and indigenous heritage. The hotel features a bright blue and green mosaic walkway called the Camino Huichol, which extends over 450 feet and connects various restaurants, shops, and event spaces, culminating in ocean views and sunset vistas over the Pacific.

Among its distinctive features is Mesa 1, an exclusive restaurant situated on a private island within a spring-fed lake. This venue offers a unique dining experience with a seven-course tasting menu served on a repurposed Parota tree trunk table. The hotel also includes multiple dining options, bars, and buzzing social spaces, all set within landscaped grounds that offer views of mountains, jungle, lake, and ocean.
