Addis NOLA, family-owned and black and female-led, presents modern Ethiopian cuisine and culture in New Orleans’ Historic Bayou Road neighbourhood; it was founded by Dr. Biruk Alemayehu, PhD. The interior was designed by OI Studio and Nomita Joshi, and operations include Prince Lobo (General Manager/Chef), who curates Ethiopian wines, Tej and the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. Selected by Michelin, Addis NOLA serves as a cultural hub, offering dine-in, brunch, bar and catering, with a downloadable catering menu and a quote-and-payment process to bring Ethiopian food and ceremonies to private functions. An eclectic interior filled with African art creates a welcoming, vibrant vibe intended to transport guests to the ‘Motherland’. The kitchen blends traditional Ethiopian flavours with modern innovation, with authentic techniques and fresh ingredients to present stews, salads, injera-based plates and vegetarian specialties in contemporary presentations; offering classic and reimagined dishes, cocktails and regional coffees. Jaime Lobo is Chef and General Manager. Specialties include Veggie Combo (assorted lentils and greens); Alemayehu "The World" Combo; Vegan Bayenetu "Taste of Everything" Combo; Shrimp Kitfo; Sweet Awaze Chicken; Traditional Coffee Ceremony (for 4).
