Henrique Sá Pessoa opened Alma in Lisbon's Chiado district in 2015, expanding his original 2009 solo restaurant into a more spacious, refined venue. Alma earned its first Michelin star in 2016 and a second in 2018, exemplifying Henrique’s commitment to excellent products and precise technique. In 2025, he received another Michelin star for his project at Vinha Boutique Hotel in Vila Nova de Gaia. Born in 1976 in Lisbon, Henrique Sá Pessoa cultivated his passion for cooking during a US exchange program and further trained at the Cordon Bleu Institute. His experience spans kitchens in Lisbon, Sydney, and London. Henrique’s accolades include Chef of the Year 2005 and multiple honors from Portuguese gastronomy bodies.
