Auberge du Pont

L'Auberge du Pont is a fine dining restaurant located in Pont-du-Château, near Clermont-Ferrand, in a historic town by the river known as the "Little Marseille" of Auvergne. Established in 1835, the establishment originally catered to the workers of river transport along the Allier River, one of the last wild rivers in Europe. Since 2005, Christelle and Rodolphe Regnauld have been running the restaurant, combining Christelle's Auvergnat hospitality with Rodolphe's Breton culinary heritage. This dual regional identity shapes a menu that celebrates both Brittany and Auvergne through seasonal, produce-focused dishes designed to highlight local breeders, farmers, and producers. The restaurant features two distinct dining rooms: an elegant space in taupe hues with French-style beams and soft lighting, and a modern extension built in 2019 inspired by a New York loft, with exposed brick walls, street art, and large windows overlooking the stone bridge and the Allier River. The cuisine offers a gastronomic journey between the inland terroir, nearby lakes, and the chef's maritime roots, emphasizing clarity of flavors with deep, expressive tastes. A vast wine cellar with over 600 references complements the experience, alongside special menus for celebrations and gourmet gift vouchers.
