Gianfranco Fino

Gianfranco Fino is a estate deeply rooted in tradition, dedicated to the preservation of old vineyards and maintaining their distinctive character. The vineyards are primarily cultivated using the traditional Apulian bush vine method on red calcareous-clay soils, influenced by the breezes of the Ionian Sea and the warm Apulian sun. The estate balances typicity and innovation by combining time-honoured cultivation techniques with modern production processes. Vineyard work is meticulous and entirely manual, with grape harvests taking place at dawn, when the selected bunches are hand-picked and transported in refrigerated trucks to the winery. The crushing occurs in the afternoon, after the grapes have reached the ideal temperature. The wines mature for a minimum of nine months in 228-litre French oak barriques. In 2021, Gianfranco Fino expanded with a new winery and a wine resort nestled in the countryside of Manduria, completely surrounded by vineyards. This setting offers an immersive rural experience designed to welcome and pamper wine enthusiasts. The focus of the estate is on wine production, showcasing the traditional Apulian bush vine vineyards, hand-harvested grapes, the preservation of old vines, and wines that express the unique Apulian terroir.
