Uchiko

Uchiko is a contemporary Japanese restaurant located in Austin, Texas, offering a distinctive dining experience inspired by a Japanese farmhouse aesthetic. Opened in 2010 as a sister restaurant to Uchi, Uchiko combines crafted materials and warm finishes to create a sophisticated yet approachable atmosphere. The interior design, led by architect Michael Hsu, balances modern and earthy elements, reflecting the laid-back nature of Austin while maintaining a clean and refined style.

The menu at Uchiko features innovative and fresh Japanese cuisine, including sushi, small plates, and hot kitchen specialties, all crafted by Executive Chef Tyson Cole, a James Beard award recipient. The dishes blend traditional Japanese techniques with global influences, using the finest ingredients to create unique flavor combinations.
