Villa René Lalique

Villa René Lalique is a Relais & Châteaux house in Alsace, founded within a villa designed by René Lalique in 1920 and reopened as a luxury hotel and gastronomic destination in 2015. The restaurant earned two Michelin stars in 2016, three months after opening, and is a member of Les Grandes Tables du Monde. The property showcases the savoir-faire of Lalique artisans throughout its interiors—furniture, lighting and tableware—creating an immersive luxury that blends crystal artistry with fine dining. The villa is a sanctuary set in nature, decorated throughout with Lalique craftsmanship and an obsessive attention to detail. Interiors combine discreet luxury, curated collections of furniture and glass and ceremonial Lalique table settings, producing a refined, intimate and immersive vibe. Hervé Schmitt oversees the service and the Lalique table scenography. The cuisine is refined and contemporary, employing creative technique and a philosophy that respects nature and humanity. Dishes are conceived with a clear focus on harmony between flavours and the house cellar. Paul Stradner is the chef, building his contemporary, creative cuisine around his personal trajectory. The house presents contemporary tasting menus that celebrate Alsace, Austria and Germany and offers seasonal gastronomy using local and regional produce. Desserts by pastry chef Jonathan Bunel draw inspiration from products of the Northern Vosges. Alsatian head sommelier Romain Iltis manages a cellar cited at 60,000 bottles and curates extensive wine pairings, while Lalique tableware and scenography-driven service complete the experience.
