Cadet opened in summer 2022, founded by wine importers Beattie and Roberts alongside charcutier George Jephson. The venue pairs a focused wine programme with cured‑meat offerings and showcases house charcuterie from Jephson to create tight drink‑and‑food pairings. It operates a bar service and a separate kitchen service on different days, offers private‑hire options and sells takeaway wine and charcuterie through partner shops, and has been recognised with a Bib Gourmand. A compact bistro and wine bar, Cadet features wine shelves and a cave‑à‑manger style kitchen designed for casual drinking and dining; the team reserves half the space for walk‑ins and operates a waiting list when busy. The kitchen follows a Modern British–Mediterranean small‑plates approach with seasonally led dishes matched to an eclectic natural‑wine list. Mike Murphy is head chef. Specialities include charcuterie and pâtés, jambon persillé, mousse de canard, Maldon oysters and the daily‑changing cave‑à‑manger dishes.
