What is an Innovation Workshop?
An Innovation Workshop is a structured team building activity designed to help teams generate new ideas and explore creative solutions to real challenges. Unlike casual brainstorming, it follows a clear process that helps teams explore a problem from multiple angles, produce a large set of ideas, and develop a few concepts further. Common topics include improving customer experience, increasing productivity, developing new products or services, or improving internal collaboration.
How do you run an Innovation Workshop?
Divide participants into teams of 4 to 6. Introduce a clear challenge (for example: “How might we improve collaboration between departments?”). Run the workshop in phases: problem exploration (identify root issues), idea generation (rapid brainstorming), concept development (select and refine one idea), and presentation (share concepts to the group). Optionally vote for the most promising ideas and capture next steps for testing.
